There are different scholarships at Victoria University and there are eligibility criteria for each;

Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA): To be eligible for an APA, applicants must:

  • Be Australian citizens or have been granted permanent resident status (This includes New Zealand citizens who are granted permanent residency status on arrival)
  • Have completed at least four years of tertiary education studies at a high level of achievement
  • Have achieved First Class Honours or equivalent results (80% or higher on VU Grading Scale)
  • Be undertaking a Masters by Research or Doctoral research degree in 2017
  • Enrol as a full-time student (Part-time awards may be available for compelling social or medical reasons)
  • Have their enrolment into the proposed degree approved by Victoria University Postgraduate Research Scholarships (VUPRS)

VU Postgraduate Research Scholarship (VUPRS): To be eligible for a VU Postgraduate Research Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be Australian citizens or have been granted permanent resident status (This includes New Zealand citizens who are granted permanent residency status on arrival)
  • Have completed a four-year undergraduate degree, or equivalent
  • Be undertaking a Masters by Research or Doctoral research degree in 2016
  • Enrol as a full-time student (Part-time awards may be available for compelling social or medical reasons)

Victoria University Diversity Scholarship (VU Diversity Scholarship): To be eligible for a Diversity Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be Australian citizens, or have been granted permanent resident status (This includes New Zealand citizens who are granted permanent residency status on arrival)
  • Can provide evidence that you have experienced one or more of the following that have disrupted or adversely affected your studies:
  • Traumatic events beyond your control
  • Significant illness and/or disability
  • Socioeconomic and/or family circumstances
  • Have completed a four-year undergraduate degree, or equivalent
  • Be undertaking a Masters by Research or Doctoral research degree in 2017
  • Enrol as a full-time student (Part-time awards may be available for compelling social or medical reasons)
  • Have had their enrolment into the proposed degree approved by the institution

International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) and Victoria University International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (VUIPRS): To be eligible for an IPRS and VUIPRS, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of any country other than Australia or New Zealand
  • Have completed a four-year undergraduate degree, or equivalent
  • Meet the University’s academic entrance requirements for enrolment into a research degree
  • Meet the University’s English language proficiency requirements for enrolment in a research degree
  • Be commencing a Masters by Research or Doctoral degree in 2017
  • Enrol as a full-time student
  • Priority will be given to applicants who pursue a program of study in one of Victoria University’s areas of research focus

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement:

  • All Ph.D., Professional Doctorate and Masters by Research applicants must meet the University’s minimum academic entry requirement of a 70% (Distinction VU standard) average in the most relevant qualifying degree
  • To be considered for a graduate research scholarships in what is always a highly competitive process, applicants are expected to have at minimum 1st class honours (80%+ average) or the equivalent to 1st class honours.

Applicants must present any of the accepted evidence to demonstrate English language proficiency:

  • IELTS (academic module): Overall score (no band less than) 6.5 (6.0)
  • TOEFL Internet: Test score: 79 (Listening 19, Speaking 19, Reading18, Writing 22)
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE): Overall score (with no section score less than): 58-64 (50)
  • The University of Cambridge – Advanced (CAE): Total score of 58
  • VU English – University Preparation UPP (Postgraduate): Achieved
  • English Language School in Sydney (ELSIS) – EAP 2 (advanced): A grade

The values of the scholarships are as follows:

The Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) has a value of $25,849 while VU Postgraduate Research Scholarship (VUPRS) has a value of $25,849. VU International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (VUIPRS) awards $25,849 while International Postgraduate Research Scholarship awards $25,849. VU Diversity Postgraduate Research Scholarship (VUDPRS) has a value of $25,849 while Vice-Chancellor’s Graduate Research Award has a value of $35,000

Value

The duration of the Melbourne Research Scholarship is two years for students undertaking a Master by research degree and three years, with a possible six-month extension, for students undertaking a Doctorate by research degree. The benefits of the Melbourne Research Scholarship vary depending on your circumstance and may include one or more of the following:

  • A fortnightly living allowance
  • A relocation allowance for students moving to Melbourne from interstate or from outside Australia,
  • Limited paid sick, maternity and parenting leave equivalent to the Australian Postgraduate Awards benefits

The International WaterCentre (IWC) provides education and training, applied research and knowledge services to implement a whole-of-water cycle approach and develop capacity in integrated water resource management. The IWC Masters Scholarships are prestigious scholarships awarded annually to high calibre candidates who clearly demonstrate potential to become future water leaders. Eligibility

Applications are invited for 2017 Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship in Australia for International Students. The scholarships are offered to undertake a postgraduate qualification at a Master’s or PhD level either by coursework or research in any field of study

Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship aim to build Australia’s reputation for excellence in the provision of education and research, support the internationalisation of the Australian higher education and research sectors and offer high-achieving individuals from overseas and Australia opportunities to increase their productivity and expertise in their field

The Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are the Australian Government’s competitive, merit-based scholarships and fellowships providing opportunities for Australians to undertake study, research or professional development overseas and for overseas citizens to do the same in Australia

Eligibility

To be eligible to receive an Endeavour scholarship or fellowship, applicants must:

  • Be aged 18 years or over at the commencement of their programme
  • Be a citizen and/or permanent resident of a participating country
  • Commence their proposed programme after 1 January 2017 and no later than 30 November 2017. Applicants who have already commenced or will commence their intended programme prior to 2017 are not eligible to apply
  • Provide all relevant supporting documentation
  • Not currently hold or have completed, after 1 January 2015, an Australian Government sponsored scholarship and/or fellowship (directly administered to recipients by the Australian Government)
  • Not apply for a category in which they have already completed an Endeavour scholarship or fellowship
  • IELTS overall score of 6.5 with no individual band less than 6.0 is required

  • Health insurance for the full category duration (OSHC for international recipients)
  • Travel insurance (excluding during programme for international recipients)

How to apply

Applications must be submitted using the Endeavour Online Application System.

All applicants (excluding Endeavour Executive Fellowships) must provide a certified copy of their final full version* numerically weighted Bachelor or Masters transcript that includes subjects and scores. A PhD transcript does not show suitable detail for panel assessment, therefore applicants must provide at least a Bachelor or Masters transcript. A PhD transcript alone will render an application ineligible. Do not include certificates.
If an applicant has not completed an undergraduate degree but will complete by 31 December 2016, they must provide a letter from their university to state when completion is expected. A condition will be placed on their application and a final transcript will be required if they are successful in receiving a scholarship offer

To be eligible applicants must:

  • Scan and attach their supporting documentation specified for the category for which they are applying. Applications that do not contain the necessary documentation will be deemed incomplete and therefore ineligible and will not be considered further
  • Provide an English translation, if the original document is not in English
  • Provide certified (attested) copies of: – Passport, Birth Certificate, National ID card or Australian Citizenship Certificate – Academic transcripts – IELTS, TOEFL, CAE or PTE results

Application deadline

Applications for the 2017 round will open in April 2016 and close at 11.59 pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time) on 30 June 2016. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that their application and supporting documentation is submitted by the closing date. Applications are 2016 University of South Australia International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS). These scholarships are awarded by the Australian government. Scholarships are open for international candidates and are awarded on the basis of academic merit and research potential

Scholarship description

The aim of the scholarship program is to enable and encourage academically able international students.

An applicant must have first-class Honours or equivalent to gain a scholarship at the University of South Australia. Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there

Scholarships are available for postgraduate research programme over different departments across the University, all offering a diverse range of courses

Eligibility

  • Generally an applicant must have first-class Honours or equivalent to gain a scholarship at the University of South Australia
  • An awardee must be enrolled on a full-time basis as a candidate for a Masters by Research or PhD at the University of South Australia
  • An awardee shall be enrolled as an internal candidate at the University of South Australia

Value

  • Scholarship includes at least $26,288 per annum for 3 years, with the possibility of one six-month extension (2016 stipend rate)
  • An IPRS will cover your tuition fees and your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), and provide a stipend (living allowance), but will not pay for travel expenses
  • A thesis allowance is funded to cover the cost of printing and binding the thesis

Eligibility

  • Students must have completed Cambridge International A levels (min aggregate 15/17.5) or the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme (min 40)

  • Applied for a single degree for the Bachelor of Economics
  • International students are eligible to apply for this scholarship

Entrance Requirement:

  • Applicant must have Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) English, Mathematics

English Language Requirement:

To meet the UQ’s English language proficiency requirements, applicants must demonstrate one of the following:

  • Score equivalent to four semesters of Sound Achievement in Queensland Studies Authority English or Australian or international equivalent. Less than four semesters may be considered for some programmes

Eligibility

English Language Requirement: To meet the UQ’s English language proficiency requirements, student must demonstrate one of the following:

  • A score equivalent to four semesters of Sound Achievement in Queensland Studies Authority English or Australian or international equivalent. Less than four semesters may be considered for some programs

Value

The scholarship will entitle the successful applicants to receive a 50% discount on their course tuition fees for a maximum period of 24 months. If the scholarship recipient exceeds the 24 months timeframe they become solely responsible for the full tuition cost of any and all remaining courses after the date specified in the scholarship offer. The scholarship will be renewed at the end of each semester for a period of 24 months if the holder:

  • Obtains satisfactory grades; and
  • Maintains a satisfactory rate of continuous enrolment for a period of 24 months within the MBA program; and
  • Fulfils the obligations of an MBA student; and
  • Remains an MBA student

How to apply

Applicants must meet each of the following conditions in order to apply for the scholarship:

  • Have already submitted an application for entry into the MBA program and be eligible to receive an ‘unconditional’ offer for admission. That is, student must have met the official entry criteria for acceptance into the MBA program (including GMAT, English Language proficiency, and work experience); and
  • Provide a personal statement of no more than 1000 words (use 1.5 spacing and 12 point font) in support of their application. This statement should:
    explain why they want to undertake the MBA at UQ Business School; and
    b. describe what value they think they will bring to their fellow MBA students; and
    c. outline long-term career goals; and
    d. provide evidence of leadership skills and community involvement; and
    e. outline how they will add value to the MBA program; and
    supply two written references as follows:
    a. a professional reference from a current or former (recent) supervisor or manager; and
    b. a character reference; and
  • Attend an interview if required—in Australia or via video-conference/skype/phone. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted as required to arrange a suitable time; and
  • Not have been awarded any other MBA scholarship as defined by UQ Business School

In addition to the application for the scholarship, the applicant must submit the following documents:

  • Official transcripts of previous studies
  • Evidence of work experience including details of management experience in the form of a CV. Please ensure that CV includes full work history, and outlines the major activities student undertake on a daily basis
  • Two written references that are work related. Applicant’s referees need to substantiate the nature of their work and the managerial duties they currently perform. They should verify details including but not limited to: managing a team of people, managing client accounts, the managerial components of any major projects they have been directly responsible for, and/or financial delegations for which student is directly responsible.   • Evidence of residency status

Scholarship description

These scholarships are part of a group of Strategic Scholarships for the Faculty of Culture and Society to encourage and stimulate full-time domestic and international students in a Doctor of Education or Doctor of Philosophy for the School of Education

There are three scholarships available. The scholarship is awarded for a maximum of one year. There is no automatic renewal. Applicants in a programme with a normal duration of more than one year such as the Doctor of Philosophy may reapply to be considered for the scholarship on a contestable basis for subsequent years of study in the eligible programme

Eligibility

The scholarships are open to all eligible Domestic and International postgraduate students. Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants must meet the entry criteria for the Doctor of Education or Doctor of Philosophy programme at AUT in the Faculty of Culture and Society
  • Applicants must be enrolling or be enrolled in a doctoral programme of study and be prepared to commit to their research full-time in the School of Education
  • The applicant’s proposed field of study must be one where the School of Education has the expertise and capacity to offer supervision

Value

  • A Stipend of $10,000
