Scholarship description

The Education Exchanges Support Foundation (hereinafter – “the Foundation”) is a national agency entrusted with the administration of Erasmus+ and Lifelong Learning programmes and other initiatives funded by the European Commission (EC) and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania in the field of education and vocational training, which has been successfully operating since 2007. The foundation helps to disseminate the idea of lifelong learning and provide everyone with the opportunity to acquire international experience

The foundation provides modern educational and research environments that will enable students and researchers to face current challenges and to focus on knowledge as a principle driving force for development. Scholarships are awarded in all subjects

Eligibility

The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for these scholarships:

  • Candidate must be a national of one of the following countries: Republic of Belarus, Republic of Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Ukraine, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Uzbekistan and People’s Republic of China or a foreigner of Lithuanian origin (other than citizens of the European Union member states, and European Economic Area member states)
  • Candidate must be a graduate of a first cycle (Bachelor degree) studies
  • Candidate must have an official letter of acceptance for full-time Master degree studies from one of the Lithuanian higher education institutions
  • English language Requirements: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there

Value

All approved candidates will receive a monthly scholarship of 380 Euros for the whole duration of the studies. The benefit to cover the study price will be offered only for the nationals from Republic of Belarus, Republic of Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Ukraine, and foreign citizens of the Lithuanian origin

How to apply

Applications must be submitted to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania in person no later than July 10, 2016, by mail (Egle.Fiseraite-at-smm.lt) or by the diplomatic representation of the Republic of Lithuania in a foreign country. The commission formed by the Minister of Education and Science (hereinafter referred to as the Commission) will examine the applications received no later than July 10, 2016

  • A copy of the identity document

The following copies certified by the procedure established by the laws:

  • A document certifying completion of a higher education institution or adequate education (diploma and enclosure, therefore) and its translation into Lithuanian, English or Russian
  • If a foreigner completed the first-cycle studies, but no certificate (diploma and enclosure thereto) was issued to him/her, he/she can submit a certificate of a higher education institution based in a foreign country, which must specify the study programme completed, courses or modules passed, their credits and assessments, assessment of the final examination or theme of the final project and its assessment, and its translation into Lithuanian, English or Russian
  • A document certifying the level of the study language command
  • A copy of the document issued by a competent institution, certifying the minimum B2 level of study language command according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, or a copy of TOEFL IBT certificate (minimum assessment is 72 points), a copy of TOEFL Paper certificate (minimum assessment is 484 points), or a copy of IELTS certificate (minimum assessment is 5 points)
  • Documents certifying achievements in research (artistic) activities
  • Published research articles and their translations into Lithuanian, English or Russian
  • Certificates on speeches delivered at scientific conferences and their translations into Lithuanian, English or Russian
  • Artistic activity folder (if a foreigner will study in the field of art) in Lithuanian, English or Russian
  • Motivational letter in Lithuanian, English or Russian
  • Recommendation (recommendations) in Lithuanian, English or Russian
  • A copy of the confirmation issued by a Lithuanian higher education institution that the foreigner was admitted or is studying in the second-cycle full-time study programme, with an indication of the foreigner’s name, surname, study programme, which the foreigner studies, and state code, foreigner’s study period
  • Contact details – address in the country of origin, e-mail address, phone number, Skype username

2017 Iceland Government Scholarships for Foreign Students

Applications are invited for the 2017 Iceland Government Scholarships for Foreign Students. 15 Icelandic Government Scholarships are available for the period from September 1st, 2017 to April 30th, 2018

Scholarship description

The aim of the Icelandic Government Scholarship is to enable and encourage academically able students.

The scholarship program is administrated by the Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies. Approximately 15 scholarships are available for the period from September 1st, 2017 to April 30th, 2018.

Scholarships are intended for students of modern Icelandic. Subjects covered include morphology, syntax, and phonetics of modern Icelandic. The students read both old and modern literature and learn about the history of Iceland from settlement to modern times. Additionally, students are introduced to translations

Eligibility

  • Students must have completed at least one year of University study
  • Students must also have prior knowledge of Icelandic according to the requirements for BA study in Icelandic as a second language (Icelandic knowledge on the level with the courses Icelandic Online 1 and 2)
  • Preference will, as a rule, be given to a candidate under 35 years of age
  • Applicants should have knowledge of English and Icelandic language

Professor Denys Holland, in whose memory the Denys Holland Fund was created via donations from his students, was a sociable, compassionate man. A Professor of Law and Dean of Students, one of his principle concerns was the welfare and fulfillment of students under his care. His admissions policy for the Faculty of Laws was aimed at a broad range of students who would enter fully into college life. Therefore, the Denys Holland Scholarship aims to support undergraduate students from any country, who without the support of the scholarship would be unable to secure the funding required to study at UCL, and who can demonstrate their intention to make full use of the activities offered by UCL and the Student Union.

The scholarship is offered for duration of one year in the first instance, but will be renewed subject to satisfactory progress, for up to a total of three years.

Eligibility

Candidates for this scholarship are expected to be in the following categories of students. Students who are:

  • Holding an offer of admission to UCL for full-time undergraduate study in any department
  • In financial hardship, and be able to demonstrate that without the scholarship they would be unable to study at UCL
  • Preferably aged 25 or below at the time of commencing their studies
  • Able to demonstrate that they have broad interests and intend to be actively involved in and contribute to the life of the university.

Value

The scholarship is worth £9,000 per annum and scholars may choose to use all or part of the scholarship to cover fees. Any remainder is paid to the scholar as a maintenance stipend.

Each scholarship will be awarded as an offset against international tuition fees. The value of individual scholarships depends on which region you are from and is as follows:

  • Africa Regional Scholarship – £2,000
  • East Asia Regional Scholarship – £2,000
  • South Asia Regional Scholarship – £2,000
  • Other Regions Scholarship- £2,000 and
  • South America Scholarship-£1,000.

Scholarship description

Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC) currently provides a number of scholarships each year for students of the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program. While the ZLOG Program attracts people from around the world to learn and interact at the ZLC and , MIT-Zaragozathe Foundation through these scholarships hopes to attract outstanding future leaders from Spain who want to pursue a career in logistics. ZLC thereby provides a unique opportunity for Spanish citizens to develop the skills necessary to lead the growth of the logistic sector in Spain.

Eligibility

Scholarships are awarded only to students who have been admitted to the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program through the Foundation’s regular admissions procedure. Candidates will be expected to show extraordinary potential for leadership and professional success, bringing new vision and commitment to the area of Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Furthermore, to be eligible, candidates must comply with the following criteria:

  • Granted admission to the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program
  • Spanish citizenship
  • Fluency in English, competitive IELTS or TOEFL score. Exceptions may be granted to individuals who have demonstrated evidence of advanced verbal and written proficiency in the English language
  • Completion of a four year undergraduate program equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Competitive GRE or GMAT score. Exceptions may be granted to individuals who have demonstrated strong academic achievement in completing a college degree – including some quantitative training – and evidence of advanced verbal and written proficiency in the English language

Value

ZLC will award one scholarship to a Spanish citizen in a form of 25% reduction in tuition for the ZLOG program, which currently amounts to €24,000.

The scholarship will not include other costs such as living or travel expenses to Zaragoza or to Boston for the international exchange.

The William R McFarlane PhD Scholarship is awarded to the best full-time applicant who meets the admission criteria and is accepted onto a PhD in History commencing in the 2015/2016 academic year. The value of the award is £15,000 per year for the duration of the recipient’s PhD degree programme (usually three years subject to satisfactory progress).

Eligibility

Applicants for this scholarship must be able to demonstrate the relevance of their proposed project to the history of Scottish emigration and/or the impact of Scottish mobility on overseas countries or related themes.

Proposals may focus on any period from the medieval centuries to recent times.

Successful applicants will become members of the Scottish Centre of Diaspora Studies and will participate in the Centre’s activities, including its graduate workshop in Diaspora Studies.

The German Historical Institute in Moscow (GIIM) Scholarships for Postgraduate Students is awarded to graduate students involved in the German or Russian/ Ukrainian / Belarusian history and the history of other post-Soviet states.

These postgraduate scholarships will be awarded to students for a period of 1 to 3 months.

Eligibility

Institute shall consider applications from graduate students who are working on a dissertation on the history of Germany, Russia, former Soviet republics, as well as the German-Russian / Soviet relations. Scholarships are available to graduate students to work in Moscow libraries and archives.

Value

Monthly stipends are awarded to candidates. The monthly stipend is determined by GIIM based on German standards.

2015 Wayne State University Private Scholarships

Applications are invited for the 2015 Wayne State University Private Scholarships. These scholarships are funded through the generosity of private donors.

Scholarship description

The Wayne State University scholarships are administered by the office of Constituent Relations and are funded through the generosity of private donors. The scholarships are awarded based on a combination of the specific award criteria, including financial need, scholastic achievement or leadership qualities.

The required enrollment status may be either full time or half time:

  • At the undergraduate level, enrollment for 12 credits minimum is considered full time; six to 11 credits is considered half time
  • At the graduate level, enrollment for eight credits minimum is full time; four to seven credits is half time.

Eligibility

  • You may apply, if you are a current Wayne State University student or an admitted student planning to enroll for the upcoming fall semester
  • Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of factors and may include a review of the information you provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), your grade point average and your completed admission application

The scholarship is awarded for Near Eastern Languages in the Department of the Languages and Cultures of the Near and Middle East, Arabic Literature in the Department of the Languages and Cultures of the Near and Middle East, Economics with reference to the Middle East in the Department of Economics, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, History of Arts and Architecture of the Islamic Middle East in the Department of History of Art and Archaeology, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Islamic Societies and Cultures in the Department of the Languages and Cultures of the Near and Middle East, Islamic Studies (in the Department of the Languages and Cultures of the Near and Middle East), Media and the Middle East in the Centre for Media Studies, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Middle Eastern Politics in the Department of Politics and International Studies, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences and Near and Middle Eastern Studies in the Department of the Languages and Cultures of the Near and Middle East.

Eligibility

Applicants for this scholarship must possess the following criteria:

  • First Class Honours degree, from a UK institution or overseas equivalent
  • Evidence in the statement of their admission application of:
  • Their motivation and commitment to their chosen programme
  • Their leadership potential and demonstrated engagement in their community and the world beyond
  • Why they would be unable to fund their studies without this scholarship
  • An offer of admission to pursue one of the eligible full-time programmes at SOAS by the scholarship application deadline
  • English language condition of their offer of admission to study at SOAS as soon as possible but no later than 1 June 2015. If your offer is conditional on English, please arrange your English test and ensure you meet the English requirements as soon as possible.

Note: the scholarship is open to UK/EU and Overseas applicants but cannot be held along with any other major scholarship or studentship.

Value

The total value of the scholarship is £25,000. Fees will be deducted from this amount and the remainder can be used toward maintenance.

How to apply

The two-step procedures for application for this scholarship are:

Candidates will be assessed by a Selection Panel comprising of at least 3 academic members of staff: on academic merit and promise. The statement of financial need will also be taken into consideration; on candidate’s motivation and commitment to their chosen programme and on candidate’s leadership potential and demonstrated engagement in his/her community and the world beyond. The assessment of the application will be based on the information in the scholarship application and in the on-line application for admission. Selectors will be looking at the degree results and also at academic references, statements and other relevant information.

Successful candidates will be notified by the end of July. If you have not heard by the end of July, you should assume that your application was unsuccessful.
