  • Be classified as an ‘overseas’ student for fee purposes
  • Have at least 1 full year working experience after completion of the undergraduate programme. Fresh graduates will not be considered
  • Must be sufficiently enable to support the cost of living throughout the duration of studies

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a demanding pre-university course of study that gives holders access to the world’s leading universities. It is a comprehensive two-year international curriculum. Students of the programme share an academic experience that emphasizes critical thinking, inter-cultural understanding and exposure to a variety of points of view. Sri KDU International School aims to bring international education to highly motivated students who are able to demonstrate a strong commitment to learning.

Students are accepted into the two year Diploma Programme at Sri KDU® in September each year. The scholarship award is tenable for the two-year period of candidature of the International Baccalaureate diploma programme. The scholarship award is based on academic and extra-curricular merit and is very competitive.

Eligibility

Outstanding students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK), Private Schools and International Schools are invited to apply for the Sri KDU International School International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Scholarship Award each year. The selection system is criterion-referenced, and candidates must demonstrate a high level of oral and written proficiency in English. Scholarship Award is offered to deserving students aged 16 – 19 years, to provide them the opportunity to develop their potential.

Note: this scholarship is open to Malaysian and International Applicants.

Value

The scholarship covers the registration fee and the tuition fee. However, scholarship recipients are required to pay the deposit as stipulated on the current fee schedule. There will be no bond, except that recipients become active members of the school alumni upon completion of the programme.

Students will acquire critical-thinking skills and a sense of international-mindedness. Students are required to choose 3 subjects at HL & 3 subjects at SL.

Kuok Foundation Berhad invites applications from Malaysian citizens currently pursuing full time undergraduate studies. Students studying diploma, off-campus, matriculation and foundation courses are not eligible to apply. There are two types of scholarships available i.e. Kuok Keng Kang Scholarships for undergraduate studies at Malaysian Public Universities and KF half-loan half-grant awards for undergraduate studies at Malaysian and Singaporean Public Universities.

There are two types of scholarships available i.e. Kuok Keng Kang Scholarships of RM12,000/- p.a for undergraduate studies at Malaysian Public Universities and KF half-loan half-grant awards for undergraduate studies at Malaysian (RM10,000 – RM12,000 per year) and Singaporean Public Universities (RM20,000 – RM28,000 per year). Students studying diploma, off-campus, matriculation and foundation courses are not eligible to apply for these scholarships.

Eligibility

  • Only Malaysian citizens are eligible to apply for these scholarships
  • Applicants should possess good academic qualifications and should be active in school
  • Kuok Foundation Undergraduate Awards are for Needy students with good academic and non-academic achievements
  • Kuok Keng Kang Scholarships for deserving students with excellent academic achievements; strong leadership qualities and active participation in extra-curricular activities
  • Only undergraduates / prospective undergraduates reading for full-time first degree courses are eligible to apply. Those pursuing Diploma, Foundation, off-campus courses, etc. are not eligible to apply.

The benefits of the scholarships are as follows:

  • Kuok Keng Kang Scholarships: RM12,000/- p.a
  • KF Half-Loan Half-Grant Awards:
  • For students in Malaysian Public Universities: RM12,000/- p.a.
  • For Medicine / Dentistry / Veterinary Medicine; RM11,000/- p.a.
  • For Science based courses and RM10,000/- p.a.
  • For Arts based courses.
  • For students in Singapore Public Universities:
  • Up to RM28,000/- p.a. for students reading Medicine & Dentistry and
  • Up to RM20,000/- p.a. for students reading courses other than Medicine & Dentistry.
  • Study loans are interest free and repayable by monthly installments upon graduation.

Kuok Keng Kang Scholarships are for deserving students with excellent academic achievements; strong leadership qualities and active participation in extra-curricular activities.

KF Half-Loan Half-Grant Awards are for needy students with good academic and non-academic achievements.

Only shortlisted candidates will be notified for interview. It is important for applicants to give their telephone contact to enable the Foundation to call them for interview if shortlisted.

Eligibility

  • This scholarship is open to Malaysian citizens not more than 25 years of age except for postgraduate courses
  • Candidates must excel in extra-curricular activities or be active in sports
  • Must not be bonded to or in receipt of any financial aid or awards from other educational institutions or organisations
  • Must possess reasonably good result in SPM / UEC or equivalent (for Foundation / Diploma courses)
  • Must possess reasonably good results in STPM / UEC or equivalent (for Degree courses).
