Applications are invited for the 2016 Fully-Funded MBA Scholarships in Business School Netherlands (BSN), Netherlands. These scholarships are funded through the Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP)

Scholarship description

The NFP is initiated and fully funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the budget for development cooperation. Business School Netherlands is proud to be one of the Dutch institutions offering NFP-qualified courses to managers and trainee managers who are looking to tackle the food security issues within in their country. The funding for this MBA Scholarship, better known as the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP), is made available through Nuffic the Governmental body responsible for the promotion of the Dutch Higher Education system worldwide

NFP is a full (100%) MBA Scholarship programme designed to foster institutional development within certain parts of the world. Applicants to certain academic and short courses of Dutch higher education institutions apply for the fellowship to cover the cost of tuition fees, accommodation and international travel for study

Business School Netherlands (BSN), the Action Learning business school, is now open for applicants wanting to study an International MBA with a focus on food security. Eligible applicants living in one of the 51 NFP countries and working in Government, Semi-Government, small-medium organisations and local community NGO’s are invited to apply for the International Action Learning MBA with a Major in Food Security programme until 22 July 2016

This English part-time, blended learning MBA programme, allows for a very practical approach to educating business leaders of the future. The International Action Learning MBA is designed for working professionals in the food security/agriculture/farming sectors who are interested in finding solutions to current management issues within their own organisations whilst achieving personal enrichment and great ROI

Approximately, 1000 courses (Masters and Short Courses) are offered each year through the NFP scholarship whereby 20,000 applications are received. 7,000 nominations are processed and then assessed by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Dutch embassies, rounding up a final 2,000 candidates who are selected from the various Dutch institutions, BSN being one of the chosen institutes. In doing so, skilled managers and senior professional in the 51 NFP countries are enabled to drive change and improvement in their countries

Eligibility

The following are the eligibility criteria for these scholarships:

  • Mid-career professionals in employment
  • Only the individual applicant can apply for funding
  • The training must occur within the context of the organisation with which the applicant works
  • The training must be seen to help the organisation in its development strategies
  • Employer support is essential

Note: while fellowships are awarded to individuals, the need for training must occur within the context of the organization for which an applicant works. The training must help the organization to develop its capacity. This means that applicants must be nominated by their employers. In fact, an application without the support of an employer will not be considered

Priorities

Half of the available funding from the NFP budget should be spent on fellowships for female candidates and for candidates from sub-Saharan Africa. Apart from this, priority is given to candidates from deprived groups and/or from marginalized regions.

Additionally, the overall objective is to spend 35% of the budget on grants and study programmes in food security and private sector development

  • Applicants will first need to make application with BSN for the International Action Learning MBA with a Major in Food Security and ensure that they meet all the entry requirements of this programme
  • Priority focus is given to applicants who live and work in Sub-Saharan Africa, work within the food security/agriculture/farming sectors as well as female applicants

Currently International MBA candidates from within the following countries are eligible to apply for funding through the Dutch Embassy or Consulate within their country

How to apply

  • Ensure you meet the admission criteria for the International MBA Programme
  • Ensure you meet the entrance criteria for the NFP Scholarship
  • Submit your application to the Admissions Team before 15 July, 2016
  • For non-English speakers a TOEFL or IELTS language test is required. The minimum pass mark for TOEFL is 550 (paper); 213 (computer) or 80 (internet) and IELTS 6.0. Exemptions can be considered should your mother tongue be English and you have successfully completed your degree in English.

Note: Prior to the application to EP-Nuffic (NFP), the applicant should first be accepted, and therefore comply with the requirements set by Business School Netherlands for the International Action Learning MBA.

Scholarships are available for pursuing graduate programme (MSc) at University of Twente

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for the University Twente Scholarship, applicant should meet all the requirements below.

  • Applicant’s programme should start in September 2016
  • For this application round, they have been (provisionally) admitted to one of the qualifying UT graduate programmes before 15 March 2016
  • Applicants have to include a motivation letter in their application (250 – 500 words). This motivation letter explains the following:
  • What they have studied in the past
  • What goal they want to reach through their study at UT
  • How they plan to receive this goal
  • Why they particularly choose to study at the University Twente
  • Applicants comply with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa into the Netherlands (if applicable)
  • Applicants comply with the general English language test requirement Academic IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT of 90) and an additional 6.0 (TOEFL iBT 20) on the subscore of speaking skills
  • Applicant is not eligible for a Dutch study grant
  • Applicants have completed a pre-master at the University Twente (if applicable)
  • Applicants may have already applied for a UTS even if they have to do a pre-master programme at the University Twente first. However, they must complete their pre-master programme with a CGPA of 7.5 (out of 10) to be eligible for a UTS and comply with above mentioned requirements. UTS benefits and support are explicitly for Master’s programmes, not for pre-master programmes. Please note: If they intend to start their master’s programme in September 2016 and are required to follow a pre-master programme, the pre-master should start in February 2016 at the latest

Value

  • Scholarship has a value of € 6,000 – € 25,000 for one year (approximately 30 scholarships available). If student have applied for a two-year programme, make sure they read the information about two-year study programmes below
  • Has a look at the overview of the estimated costs of living in the Netherlands (excluding tuition fees)

2016 SBE International School Scholarship in Netherlands for International Students

Applications are invited for the 2016 SBE International School Scholarship in Netherlands for International Students. The Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (SBE) is offering scholarship for non-EU/EEA students to pursue bachelor’s programme

Scholarship description

The Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (SBE) offers one scholarship for its three-year bachelor’s programmes to talented students from international schools with the interest to expand their global education. The scholarship is available to students with (only) a non-EU/EEA nationality

Scholarship is awarded for three years. The scholarship is renewable every year for the duration of the bachelor’s programme on the express condition that scholarship awarded students:

  • Fulfill all study requirements within given time
  • Maintain an overall GPA of at least 75% each year
  • Assist, on average, 4 hours per month in student recruitment activities. There is only one scholarship available for a period of three-years to talented students from international schools with the interest to expand their global education

Scholarship is awarded for the following programmes:

  • International Business
  • Economics and Business Economics and
  • Econometrics and Operations Research

Eligibility

If you wish to apply for the SBE International School Scholarship, there are several requirements. You must:

  • Be accepted to a SBE bachelor’s programme through the following procedures:
  • BSc International Business: admission through the decentralised selection procedure
  • BSc Economics and Business Economics: admission through the decentralised selection procedure
  • BSc Econometrics and Operations Research: admission through the regular admission procedure
  • Not be older than 35 years at the start of the academic year (1 September 2016)
  • Have an overall GPA of at least 70%
  • Obtain your secondary school diploma at a Council of International Schools member international school. Please note: only students from a CIS accredited school can apply, check the following link to find out if your school is enlisted

Value

The amount of the scholarship is € 11,500 per academic year

  • Step 2-Write an essay: When writing your essay, try picturing yourself as a member of this community. In the essay, describe your cultural background and explain why and how you can contribute to the multinational, multicultural beehive that is The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Check the essay guidelines before you start writing
  • Step 3-Submit your essay by completing the Application Form

between 1 November 2015 – 31 March 2016

The university has appointed a committee to judge all essays. The judges will select the 54 students whose essays will have impressed them most and award the scholarships to them.

The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship programme has 3 awards:

  • € 10.000 of the tuition fee
  • € 15.000 of the tuition fee
  • Total tuition fee minus the statutory tuition fee (also referred to ashome fee)
    The number and type of award of the scholarship depends on the budget available for each Faculty department. The type of award has no reflection on the students’ academic level of excellence. Please be aware that the LExS is not a full scholarship

2015/2016 ISS Scholarship/Hardship Fund in Netherlands for MA Programme in Development Studies

International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) has established two funds i.e. ISS scholarship fund for excellent students and ISS hardship fund. Both funds are open to both International and Dutch students for pursuing MA programme in Development Studies. ISS Scholarship Fund is awarding a total of 20 scholarships covering 40% of the tuition fee while ISS Hardship Fund provides a fee discount of up to 30% of the tuition fee

Scholarship description

International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) established two funds (scholarship fund and hardship fund) to support students without any other form of scholarship. Both funds are open to Dutch and International Students who wish to enroll in the Master of Arts in Development Studies at ISS. Students need to have a letter of admission from ISS before applying for this scholarship

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria are as follow:

  • ISS Scholarship Fund: People with relevant work experience, a degree in one of the social sciences (upper second or first class) and a strong motivation to study at ISS, or recent graduates with a first class degree in one of the social sciences and a strong motivation to study at ISS
  • ISS Hardship Fund: Students who do not comply with the criteria for the scholarship fund for excellent students but do not have sufficient means to pay the entire tuition fee can apply to the ISS Hardship Fund.

Value

  • ISS Scholarship Fund: Each scholarship is worth 40% of the tuition fee (for the MA 2015-2016: € 5,800)
  • ISS Hardship Fund: This fund can provide a fee discount of up to 30% of the tuition fee (for the MA 2015-2016: € 4,350).

How to apply

To apply for one of the funds, applicants should send in their requests to the ISS student office email address before 15 June 2015. Requests should explain shortly the reason why a fee reduction will enlarge your opportunity to study at ISS and include detailed financial information (including supporting bank statements) to prove your ability to support yourself for the remaining tuition fee, the living expenses and health insurance.

The decision will be taken in early July. Students selected for the fellowship will be informed by the international office
